Occupational Disability

Some individuals have occupational disability coverage which affords benefits in the event the individual becomes disabled as the result of an on the job injury.  The most common example I encounter involves owner/operator over the road (OTR) truck drivers.  These individuals are able to obtain benefits that are somewhat similar to workers’ compensation benefits, as well as similar to long term disability (LTD) benefits.  Initially, the individual is able to obtain temporary disability benefits. Thereafter, should the individual remain disabled, he/she is qualified for continuous total disability benefits.  If you are having difficulty obtaining your occupational disability benefits, you may need to obtain representation.
