Fibromyalgia

SSR 12-2p, effective July 25, 2012, states that fibromyalgia can be a medically determinable impairment that can be the basis for a finding of disability. The adjudicator must follow the dictates of SSR 96-7p in evaluating the claimant’s subjective complaints of limitation.  Keep in mind that the diagnosis must be made by a proper medical source and documented accordingly.
